HOTEL ETIQUETTE
Should you reserve a sun lounger with a towel?

A new Hotels.com poll has revealed that 60% of travelers can't stand the ultimate poolside faux pas: towel-chair-hoarding. Yep, some guests think it’s totally fine to claim the best lounge chairs at the crack of dawn, then disappear for hours, leaving only a sad pile of towels and flip-flops. Meanwhile, everyone else is circling the pool like sharks, hoping for a spot. Etiquette experts say this is basically the "I’m more important than you" move, and it’s seriously rude. So, if you’re planning to chill by the pool, grab a chair only when you’re ready to use it and don’t leave it vacant for hours! And if you’re the one stuck without a seat, just ask the staff for help because no one wants to start a towel-throwing war. Also, FYI: walking barefoot in the hotel lobby? Huge no-no. Keep it classy, folks!

FLYING HACK
5 Easiest Ways to Stay Hydrated While Flying

Flying can quickly leave you dehydrated due to dry cabin air and limited access to fluids. Here are five simple tips to stay refreshed in the sky:

  1. Prep Before You Fly – Start hydrating the day before and skip dehydrating drinks like coffee or juice the morning of your flight. Stick to water.

  2. Drink Smart Water – Go for spring or purified tap water. Skip the high pH gimmicks—your body balances that out anyway.

  3. Avoid Alcohol – Tempting as that airport cocktail may be, it’ll dry you out. Choose water, coconut water, or electrolyte drinks instead.

  4. Snack on Hydrating Foods – Bring fruits and veggies like watermelon, cucumbers, or strawberries for a water boost and energy.

  5. Moisturize Inside & Out – Use saline spray, eye drops, lip balm, and lotion to combat dryness and keep your body comfortable in-flight.

Stay smooth, hydrated, and ready to take on your destination! 🌍

WONDER!
Why Airplane Windows Are Round, Not Square?

Airplane windows are round for a very important reason: safety. When a plane is flying at high altitudes, the cabin is pressurized to keep passengers comfortable while the air outside is much thinner. This creates a strong pressure difference, and that pressure pushes out against the entire fuselage—including the windows.

Round or oval windows handle this pressure much better than square ones. That’s because curved edges distribute stress more evenly. In contrast, square windows have sharp corners where stress tends to concentrate, which can lead to cracks forming over time.

This isn’t just theory—it actually happened. Back in the 1950s, the de Havilland Comet, one of the first commercial jet airliners, was designed with square windows. Several of those planes unfortunately suffered in-flight breakups, and investigations revealed that cracks had started in the corners of the windows due to repeated pressurization cycles. The industry quickly learned from those tragedies, and airplane windows were redesigned with rounded edges to prevent such failures.

Captain Steve, a commercial pilot and aviation content creator, even shared a great video on Instagram explaining this. He breaks down how square windows led to fatal accidents, and why engineers turned to round ones to keep passengers safe.

So in short: round windows aren't just for looks—they're a key part of what makes modern air travel safe and reliable.
