The futuristic fun doesn't stop there—Waymo’s already testing in Atlanta for the next big rollout. Catch A Deal: Southwest Airlines $49 One-Way Flights on Sale Now

Southwest Airlines is offering one-way flights starting at $49 for its Wanna Get Away fares. Travel within the U.S. is available from March 31 to June 11 (excluding Memorial Day weekend), while flights to Hawaii and San Juan, Puerto Rico are available from April 28 to May 21, with specific day restrictions. For example, flights from New York to Jacksonville start at $99, and from New York to Miami at $76. Bookings must be made by March 13, with a 21-day advance purchase. Cancellations within 10 minutes of departure may receive a future credit. Exclusions apply, including no travel from Chicago or Memorial Day weekend.

Speaking of Southwest, the airline has made changes to its Rapid Rewards program, affecting flights booked on or after March 4, 2025. The update impacts how passengers earn points based on fare class. For example, the most affordable fare, Wanna Get Away, now earns two points per dollar, down from six. The Wanna Get Away+ fare class now earns six points, up from four. Meanwhile, the Business Select fare earns 14 points per dollar, up from 12. Passengers who opt for more expensive fares can quickly accumulate points for free flights.

The Rapid Rewards program, launched in 1996, now allows earning points from flights, vacation bookings, and partners like Southwest Cruises. Members can redeem points for flights, vacation packages, and more, and purchase additional points if needed. The adjustments apply to all flights booked after March 4 at 12:01 am CT.
